Joint Nature Conservation Committee website relaunches

New look for JNCC website

JNCC is the statutory advisor to Government on UK and International nature conservation, on behalf of the Council for Nature Conservation and the Countryside, the Countryside Council for Wales, Natural England and Scottish Natural Heritage. Its work contributes to maintaining and enriching biological diversity, conserving geological features and sustaining natural systems.

Challenge

The Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) had an objective to relaunch their website to a challenging deadline with a new look and enhanced navigation. News Alterian templates were needed as were Alterian plug-ins to help users more easily locate data and information via JNCC’s systems.

Approach

Fusionworkshop were selected for the project due to a strong track record in Alterian CMS, and advanced skills in developing templates and stylesheets. The team worked closely with JNCC's contracted designers, Corporate Document Services, for the site images and aesthetics, to ensure that brand guidelines were followed. Fusionworkshop also provided consultancy on accessibility and usability on additional project development work.

Results

The resulting website is visually attractive as well as being accessible to a wider audience, who are now able to locate the information they need more quickly and easily.

We are delighted with the results that have been achieved by Fusionworkshop. This was an extremely challenging project, with a demanding schedule, and they responded with practical solutions and creative fixes whenever needed. Our corporate image is all about professionalism and ease of access to information, and their efforts have helped us to further reflect this via our new website.
