Royal and Derngate
CMS and Tessitura CRM integration
Royal & Derngate is the
main venue for arts and entertainment in Northampton. The subject
of a £15 million redevelopment project, the theatre offers two
auditoria and Underground, a creativity centre that’s home to the
Youth Theatre and a wide range of workshops and projects for the
local community.
Business
Objectives
One of Royal and Derngate's
primary goals was the successful integration of their ticketing
solution (Tessitura) with the website to provide visitors with
up-to-date details of productions, performances and ticketing
information. Royal and Derngate wanted the website to handle as
much of the ticketing process as possible to reduce costs within
their call centre.
The project included a
scoping phase comprising requirements capturing, business analysis
and content architecture workshops. Some basic prototyping was used
to communicate the initial buying workflow to stakeholders.
A major focus of the scoping
was business analysis to identify key business wins and to capture
less critical features for inclusion at a later phase.
Initial scoping allowed
Fusion Workshop to understand Royal and Derngate’s exact
requirements. Wire frames were used to design the main content
architecture and illustrate the user journey through the website.
The website design had to integrate the venues new identity with
the complex technical solution, while being easy to use and highly
accessible.
Results
The Royal and Derngate
website solution provides a strong user-focused experience that is
comparable in quality to many of the venues larger competitors. The
strategic planning of the content architecture at the beginning of
the project assisted in creating a highly useable and
accessible website.
