Stylish new look helps online visitors explore collection
An intuitive and usable experience for editors & international audience
Bath's Fashion Museum have launched a re-designed website with help from Fusionworkshop. The website allows visitors to plan their day, browse exhibitions and events & explore the collection online. Having supported the venue for over a decade, Fusionworkshop identified that a new look and feel could enhance the user experience and better reflect their outstanding collection.
Working with the team at Bath Heritage Services, Fusionworkshop proposed a series of enhancements to the Alterian CMS based website. This resulted in a range of improvements, including:
- Dynamic editable mega dropdown menu
- Improved SEO and ability to collect visitor data
- A larger screen area and improved IA
- An editable image carousel to showcase the collection
- Facebook 'like' and integrated Twitter feed
To ensure older browsers were able to use the site we used CSS3 and jQuery UI across the website. Members of the team also provided advice and training on how to migrate content to the interactive areas of the site.
Bath's Fashion Museum is designated as an outstanding collection by the Council for Museums Libraries and Archives.
