Roman Baths website redesign

User-centred design approach updates the historic venues website

Minerva at Roman Baths

A redesign of the Alterian website made more accessible for an international audience.

The team at Fusionworkshop reviewed the business goals and carried out an analysis of how users interacted with the website. This resulted in a range of improvements, including:

  • Updated Information Architecture
  • Template widening
  • An Alterian CMS image slider plug-in
  • Fully editable Mega dropdown navigation
  • Implementation of CSS3.0
  • Improved controls to publish content globally across the website

These changes give visitors to www.romanbaths.co.uk a richer experience and allow them to plan their visit to the historic site more easily. Website editors have also been given more control over presentation of images and text.

The Roman Baths website appeals to a diverse audience and has multilingual capabilities with a full Chinese version. It is also aligned with social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, and blogging. Fusionworkshop have supported Bath Heritage Services websites for over ten years and continue to work closely with the Council as their online strategy evolves.
