Updated look and feel for Fusion Workshop website
04 June 2010
A new look and feel has been revealed for the
Fusionworkshop website including interactive features created by
specialists in the Professional Services team.
Fusionworkshop Head of Marketing
Nick van Noorden commented:
"We realised that our own website should be making use of some
of the funtionality that we have built for our customers. Our
Usability specialist worked up wireframes, which were then used by
our developers and design specialists to achieve a result that
looks great and is highly usable. They have done a great
job."

The company has developed an image slider' through use
of J-Query rather than Flash, which means the website renders
equally well in devices such as the iPhone as well as traditional
browsers. Avoiding Flash is also good practice to ensure that all
content is indexable by search engines.
One other notable feature is the navigation, featuring a 'Mega
Dropdown'. Web usability expert Jakob Nielsen calls the Mega
Dropdown: Big, two-dimensional drop-down panels group navigation
options to eliminate scrolling. This is exactly what has been
achieved here, allowing users to navigate to their chosen page at a
glance.
